Any creative ideas for a resume? Executive in a creative field. Need some inspiration.?

Posted by admin on December 26th, 2009 and filed under coffee tins | 4 Comments »

I want my resume to get noticed and was wondering if anyone out there has any creative ideas like maybe sending it in a box of cookies or tin of coffee or something???

Suggestions:

-Use unconventional packaging or graphic design (must look very professional–think "celebrity A-list party invitation", magic square, pop-up card)
-Unconventional format–resume written as a classified ad, screenplay, newspaper, press release, etc. (have your friends check-won’t work unless it comes off as sophisticated and, obviously, no grammar/spelling errors)

Don’t make it too hard to access information/read, but make it intriguing! Use it to showcase your creative skills–if you’re better at graphic design/art, make it a display of your design skills. If you’re an excellent copywriter, focus on the text.

Good luck!

how does covering a cup of coffee prevent heat escaping?

Posted by admin on December 26th, 2009 and filed under cup covers | 5 Comments »

A scientific explanation please?

Covering up a coffee cup lowers the rate at which energy can escape from the cup. It does this through a combination of a few things, the most important is lowering the amount of heat removed through convection.

Convection is the mode of heat transfer involved with flowing gases and fluids. The amount of heat it can remove (i.e. how fast it cools the coffee) is very much dependent on the temperature difference between the flowing gases and in our case, the coffee. The higher the temperature difference, the faster they would cool (makes sense, right). When you put a lid on the coffee, you have trapped the heated air inside the coffee mug. As a result, the temperature of the air rises until the temperature of the air and the temperature of the coffee are practically the same. Using our above reasoning, we know that the coffee cannot cool down from the air anymore since they are both at the same temperature.

However, if you leave the mug uncovered, you allow fresh, cool room temperature air back into the mug. This means that the temperature difference between the flowing air and the coffee causes the coffee to cool down.

Another reason hot coffee will cool down is because the heat of vaporization of the liquid coffee. The heat of vaporization is the amount of energy required to make a liquid phase change to a gas. This removes energy from the coffee, making it cooler.

When you leave the coffee uncovered, the coffee vapor is allowed to escape to the environment. Liquids will continually evaporate gases until it reaches a equilibrium point (noted by the substances "vapor pressure"). It would take alot of coffee to fill up a whole room with coffee gases, so that it would stop evaporating. However, putting a lid on the coffee traps the evaporation and the coffee will stop evaporating MUCH sooner (remember, less evaporation means stays hotter longer).

Hope this helps.

where can i find wholesale suppliers for Quinceanera supplies?

I’m not looking for answers about where I can find cheap available to the public items, I’m looking for *business license/tax ID required* wholesalers.

The best place for you is to buy from suppliers or manufacturers directly. You can find the list of suppliers or manufacturers with complete contact details from B2B websites. You can even contact these suppliers and send business inquiries to any supplier or manufacturer directly from these B2B websites for free. I can suggest you to search from http://www.hellotrade.com or http://www.alibaba.com B2B websites for you.

What is the difference in a product that lists Ephedrine HCL 25mg & one listing 25mg Ephedrine Group Alkaloid?

Posted by admin on December 26th, 2009 and filed under product sourcing | 1 Comment »

In researching, I have found, that Vasopro contains artificial supplement, and that others (25mg Ephedrine Group Alkaloid) contains natural sources. Does anyone know the difference in the product or results?

Ephedrine HCL is the real stuff. It helps you burn fat. Ephedrine Group Alkaloids isn’t the real stuff. It doesn’t help you lose weight. Why? Because there are a lot of different alkaloids in the ephedrine group. Some companies sell ephedrine group alkaloids that DON’T contain any fat burning alkaloids to get around the government restrictions on ephedrine. So, if it says Ephedrine HCL, then it’s ok. If it says Ephedrine Group Alkaloids, it’s junk.

How do I get over my fear of Post-it notes?

Posted by admin on December 26th, 2009 and filed under post it notes | 6 Comments »

Every night I dream I am being attacked by little pieces of adheasive paper. Eventually I find myself covered it neon yellow and I can’t breath. The only way out is to connect drinking straws to reach over the top of my cubicle to get air. Is this normal?

You’re making this way too complicated. Keep about a dozen bendy drinking straws in your mouth, pointing in all different directions. It will be impossible for the post-it notes to obstruct your breathing. It’s very hard for post-it notes to stick to the end of a straw, since there’s so little surface area.

If you only have this problem in your dreams, and it doesn’t affect your daytime functioning (e.g. not being able to function at the office) it’s not really a phobia… the DSM-IV calls it "Nightmare Disorder".

How do i make business cards from a jpeg when i bought the wrong sheets ?

I have an ink jet printer but by accident i bought laser paper sheets for making business cards. It seems that the ink looks fine but everytime i try to print the cards off my jpeg of the template that i used from photoshop the images are off the center of the cards. I have a Lexmark 5600-6600 printer. Do i have to change the paper source and if so how? If anyone can help id really appreciate it. Thanx

Try adjusting the page margins. That should move the image on the paper.

Where is the best place to start learning about digital scrapbooking?

Posted by admin on December 26th, 2009 and filed under scrapbooking | 2 Comments »

I’ve done paper scrapping for a long while, but I’m terribly behind. I think digital scrapbooking might just be what I need to get back on track, but I’m overwhelmed with all of the info out there. Help! Where should I start?

First I would start by looking at the software you are going to use. How comfortable are you with using it? If the answer is not so much, I would recommend getting books and such on the software that will teach you how to do various things. If you are using Adobe Photoshop (CS, Elements, etc.), then you can access Adobe’s website for tutorials and tons of information. They also do a podcast if you are interested in that. I have found those useful. Nothing beats getting to see how someone does something step by step!!

If you are using other software, chek out their customer website to see if they offer any how-tos. Many of the various programs have a lot of similarities so even if you don’t have Adobe, you might want to take a gander over there.

Once you feel that you have a decent handle on your software I would go to a limited number of websites. Pick one that you feel give you the best directions on how-tos and have a forum to discuss things. Forums are a great chance to interact and get help when you are stuck! They often will also have archieves so that you can look for answers to questions that you have that may have been asked before. I will list a couple examples below of some websites that I have enjoyed for digital scrapping.

How does the floating card work with no magnets, wind, thread, plastic, etc.!!?

Posted by admin on December 26th, 2009 and filed under card magnet | 1 Comment »

I dont want to buy it at all on the internet, cause i dont have an acoount. Ive been a magician for four years and cant find it out!!

Nothing can float without support, so your kind of out of luck there.

But go to ebay and look up the "humming bird card". I bought this trick and it works GREAT, its not expensive, complex, or to difucult, but very convincing and ingenious.
