Thanksgiving Songs, etc. (Indian theme for Kindergarten)?!?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under coffee tins | 3 Comments »

I am looking for some ideas for Thanksgiving activities for my K class. I think that I am going to have them make indian headbands and use patterns and have various shapes. I also am going to have them make indian drums (cover coffee tins with construction paper). I really am looking for some songs that we would be able to somehow fit a drum-like rhythm to..HELP! Thanks!!

I make handprint/footprint turkeys. Paint their hands whatever colors they want, then use them as the feathers. Use their foot (painted brown) and toes (4 painted orange. 1brown) for the body and feet. Glue on google eyes, beak, and waddle.
I also color corn (with food coloring and water) and let the kids make cool designs with it. We’ve also made the headbands, but sometimes make a turkey head on the front with feathers on top for the turkey’s feathers. Very cute!

My kids’ favorite Thanksgiving song:
I’m a little turkey,
Short and fat.
Here are my feathers, here is my hat.
Gobble, gobble, gobble is what I say.
Quick! Run! It’s Thanksgiving Day!

It could use a simple drumbeat with it…Have fun!

Dropship suppliers needed for anything aviation. This could include flight jackets, E6B computors, model airplanes, radio controlled airplanes, helicopters and all associated parts. Microphone headsets and aviation GPS’s, particularly Garmin would be awesome. Basically, anything aviation is what I am looking for suppliers for. Any help I can get would be awesome..Thanks..

Wholesale Party supplies – searching for licenced themed ware to purchase?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under wholesale supplies | 1 Comment »

mainly items like Bob the Builder, Tinkerbell etc.

I’ve looked into many wholesale party and novelty suppliers and this is the cheapest and best. I know several people who buy from them, too, and agree with me. Good luck to you.

I have my product and my domain. What is the best source for how to proceed to build my site and my business?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under product sourcing | 2 Comments »

I am having a hard time visualizing how I want my site to look and how to just build a site. Thanks for your help.

If you want to design your own website, you can use the Macromedia suite, it has all the possiable programs you need to create a website.

In the other hand, if you want to purchase a professional pre-designed website template, you can find thousands of them at http://www.templatemonster.com and i’m telling you, this site really rocks, you won’t be dissapointed.

You also have http://www.site2you.com/ which is a part of the TEMPLATE MONSTER network, there you can select a professionaly designed template, and you can modify it with their online state-of-the-art interface, make it look to your taste, when you finish, you pay a little fee and you can download the template. It’s really easy.

These two sites really offer great professional templates at 40-60$, you’ll get a fabulous professionaly design FULL WEBSITE TEMPLATE with that money.

Hope i’ve been of some help ;)

HOW do you use shipping labels on ebay goods?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under shipping labels | 4 Comments »

i know how to print them, enter the info, etc. but when i come to the WEIGHT part, i dont know what to put. am i supposed to just go out and buy a scale somewhere? what do i do? i don’t want to go to the post office every day.

please do not refer me to the ebay website and all that. it does not answer this question.

thanks for your help!
how much do scales cost and where can you find them?? thanks!

If its a small item you can buy a postal scale at Walmart for a couple of bucks.Larger items weigh on your bathroom scale, however,if you go to the post office you can stock up(for free)on their flat rate boxes and envelopes. If you mail online at www.usps.com,the carrier will pick them up from your house for free and you get free delivery confirmation. Also you can have it so the buyer is emailed you have shipped. The envelopes are about $4.30,and the large boxes are about $8.10.And those flatrate are priority so your buyer should receive them in 2-3 days.

Which journal do I post an issue of notes payable to?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under post it notes | 1 Comment »

Here’s the transaction:

Issue $15,000 note, maturing in 90 days, to R. Moses in payment of balance due.

I have a cash receipt, cash payment, purchase, sales, and general journal.

I think I make a post to the general journal but I’m not sure. If it is the general journal, would the entry be:

Debit – Accounts Payable-R. Moses
Credit – Notes Payable

You’re entry is correct. That is:
(Dr) Accounts Payable $15000
(Cr) Notes Payable $15000

Since, the issuance of notes has no corresponding cash receipts but just a creation of new liability (extinguishment of liability by creation of another liability), the following transaction should be recorded in General Journal.

What cutting machine for scrapbooking should I get?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under scrapbooking | 2 Comments »

I am doing some scrapbooking (but not alot). I was told I should get a Cricut but they are expensive. I see they have a portable one and that they also have a machine called the Slice. Are any of these worth the price or is there something else?

I used to work at Michaels and I’d see a lot of hardcore scrapbookers getting Cricut machines and the cartridges. The Cricut machine is great if you do a ton of scrapbook and are very involved–it can do intricate cut outs in various sizes, as well as cut through paper and vinyl. There are a ton of cartridges available, but they are also expensive. It is a super nice machine that cuts out letters and picture-like things (ie. if you buy the Disney cartridge, it can cut out Mickey). However, I would not suggest paying the money for it if it is going to sit in your closet until you get around to using it once every two or three months. I don’t know about the small one.

The other option is die cutters, of which there are many options, like Sizzix, Cuttlebug, and Slice. These also require you to buy a machine (non electric, I believe) and dies. I’m not sure how they work.

There are also cheap cutters that work like hole punches except they punch out different shapes in different sizes instead of just a small circle. But they are bulky and you’d have to buy a lot of them in order to really get use unless you only wanted to make a bunch of three inch hearts.

All of these options are pretty costly if you want to do anything fancy. The Cricut machine is definitely the nicest option, then the die cutters, then the cheap hole-punch things. Sometimes Michaels has small versions of the hole-punch things in their dollar bin with shapes like hearts or squares.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, I think your option is to cut shapes out yourself.

Will a permanent magnet erase data on my credit cards?

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010 and filed under card magnet | 5 Comments »

do I need to keep permanent magnets away from any credit or debit cards?

You need a REALLY strong magnetic field to wipe out a credit card. A large neodymium magnet might do it.

Basically, I wouldn’t worry about it much.

I think the mythbusters did a segment about this, testing to see which size magnets could erase the magnetic strip on a card, and only the biggest baddest magnet could do it.
