Thats the whole …
Thats the whole point of the film/book. It’s a critique of that whole business culture. How people aspire to….banality to fit it. The whole “clone in a suit” thing taken to its extreme.
Ultimately, thats why Bateman kills. He’s sickened by the mediocrity that surrounds him in the most extreme way.
