Me being a yuppie … Me being a yuppie myself i understand what Bateman is going through when comparing cards and suits and ralph lauren sunglasses.
Certainly i have made many jokes about killing people who have better cards than me, but i have never plucked up the courage to do it
When you look at … When you look at Batemans card its fair to say he has gained something very impressive.
You can tell it’s been hand stitched, much like Allens card. The big difference being the way Allens is printed on, whereas batemans is done using premium card and it looks like foil lettering to me.
Certainly judging by the watermark on Allens i would say he spent a of alot of money on getting it done.
I myself prefer Luis’ card later in the film, Bryces as it too exotic for me.
I know a teacher … I know a teacher who uses this scene in his U.S. History class when teaching the 1980’s as a humorous example of just how shallow and materialistic the country was at the time.
Love this scene. … Love this scene. They are all so shallow comparing their silly business cards. Bateman is jealous of Allen’s beautiful looking card. “..it even has a watermark”,seriously who needs that on a freakin’ business card? They are comparing cards for crying out loud. Cards! How low can you get? This is why this scene is great.
