Can a magnet really make your Credit Card not work?
Is this theory true or is it a hoax?????
:(:(:(?
Yes, it really can, especially if it’s a powerful magnet. In fact some cell phones have magnetic latches strong enough to erase a credit card, so be careful about carrying them together (see link).
The myth is that eelskin wallets can erase credit cards, and that’s absolutely not true. An electric eel has to be alive to produce an electric current. Eelskin doesn’t have an electric or magnetic charge.
A magnet can erase the strip on your credit card, making machines unable to read it.
