i’ve seen one where its a little flag on the side. but im looking for one that covers the whole cup

Try www.emmabridgewater.co.uk as I think they may have what you’re looking for. Alternatively, ebay are great for unusual things.

What are your favorite bands that do (live) covers of other bands?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under cup covers | 17 Comments »

BQ:And what are your favorite cover songs you’ve heard them play

Mine would be Phish doing the Rolling Stones, Loving Cup; Stevie Wonder’s, Boogie on Reggae Woman; and Ween’s Roses are Free

Phish played Velvet Underground’s "Oh! Sweet Nuthin’" and Jimi Hendrix’s "Bold as Love" at the Shoreline amphitheater 2 nights ago. Man, they know how to pick good covers!

Grateful Dead (IMO the kings of all time for doing covers live) i.e.
Good Lovin’-Young Rascals
Not Fade Away-Buddy Holly
Baba O’Riley-The Who
El Paso-Marty Robbins
Hey Pocky Way-The Neville Brothers
Me and Bobby McGee-Kris Kristofferson
Hey Jude-The Beatles
Turn On Your Lovelight-Bobby "Blue" Bland
Knockin’ On Heavens Door-Bob Dylan
It’s All Over Now Baby Blue-Bob Dylan
All Along The Watchtower-Bob Dylan

In today’s The Sunday Times World Cup 2007 supplement was James Hook on the cover in editions all over the UK?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under cup covers | 2 Comments »

Just wondering if they change the papers around for different regions, eg. James Hook on some covers, Wilkinson on others etc. The Sunday Times (UK)
James Hook plays for wales at fly-half, he is an up and coming rugby star

If you don`t mind me asking…who is James Hook ?
Is he a Rugby player ?, I know Wilkinson is .

Can I use magnets with opposite polarities to make a levitating sphere?

Posted by admin on March 3rd, 2010 and filed under cup covers | 6 Comments »

I’m trying to make a sphere that levitates inside a hemisphere cup lined with magnets glued down with all poles facing the same direction. The sphere is styrofoam lined with magnets with all the poles facing the same direction. So the hemisphere cup has magnets facing with the north pole out and the ball also has all of its north pole facing out. The cup covers about half the sphere, so the ball fits right inside. Is this possible to do?

I think Periphrasis has the right idea.

Some points to keep in mind:

You don’t want the magnets on the ball to touch each other. If they do, they will tend to act as one large magnet, with north on one side of the ball and south on the other.

You have to keep in mind that what will make the ball balance is equilibrium. In order to have a stable equilibrium, the geometry and the forces have to work in such a way that any displacement of the ball will create forces pushing it back toward the equilibrium position.

If the ball moves down, the repellent force needs to increase, so that it will move back up.

If it moves too high, the repellent force needs to decrease so that it will move back down.

If it gets off to one side, the force pushing it away from that side needs to increase (and the opposing force decrease), so that it moves back to the equilibrium position.

As Periphrasis points out, the upward force could pop it out of the cup. In particular, if it gets too high AND off to one side, it is doubtful that the lateral forces will be effective enough (once it rises above the sides) to move it back to the center.

Good luck!

How to cut paper so it can go around a paper cup?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under cup covers | 2 Comments »

I need to cover a paper cup with pretty paper for a crafts project. But i forgot how you’re supposed to cut the paper so when you put it around the cup it will fit. Please help !

The previous idea would be simplest if you have an extra cup.

If you don’t, then lay the cup down on its side in the middle of a lengthwise sheet of paper, then mark the top and bottom of the cup on the paper. Then *roll* the cup to the right (or left) a little, and mark those upper and lower spots again. Continue doing this till you have an "arc" long enough to fit all the way around your original cup (with a little excess for overlapping)… you can measure the bottom circumference of the cup, or just use trial & error to get the right length.

Is there any way online to get magic bullet recipes? Can I dishwash my Magic Bullet?

Posted by admin on February 23rd, 2010 and filed under cup covers | 4 Comments »

I bought a magic bullet but I already lost the recipe book =(
Also, someone once told me that you cannot dishwash plastic because it cannot handle the high heat. Can I still wash the plastic cups and cup covers? Thanks for helping !!

All parts except the base are safe in the top rack of the dishwasher. You can get recipes from the Homeland Houswares website. search for "magic bullet recipes"

When is it most appropriate to wear nipple covers?

Posted by admin on February 21st, 2010 and filed under cup covers | 3 Comments »

In your opinion, when should adhesive nipple covers be used as an alternative to strapless bras?

Obviously in backless dress situations, but I’m curious as if you see day-to day casual wearing okay, or only on formal dress events, do tell!

An additive, I am a 36C cup, is it OK for me to wear them in a backless evening gown for prom? or should I go with the adhesive bra?

whenever u are in stripper mode

Since Santana is no longer is there another provider that is covering the World Cup?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under cup covers | 4 Comments »

I do not wish to subscribe to sky so what are the alternatives

The World Cup has never been on Sky. It will be on BBC & ITV. They normally have a game each every day until the knock out then just alternate. The Final will be on both.
