Read lord of the rings in one day?

I was thinking about stating up for 24 hours straight and go through all three lord of the rings books. I know I’ll need tins if coffee, but for anyone who done a similar thing, what could I do to prepare? I don’t know anyone who done this and would love to do this. Also, this isn’t gonna stop me, but are there any bad things that could come of doing this?

I can’t think of any bad things that would come of it, other than just not catching all the subtle nuances of the story. I will say this…I have read this book MANY times (at least once a year since I learned to read more than 20 years ago) and I have NEVER been able to finish it in a day. I have finished it in 3 days, but never in a single day. I wish you luck in your endeavor.

You need to rest your eyes.
    And be near a bathroom.
All that caffeine can start up your bladder like crazy.
    Have a nice lighting too.
It took me like 3 weeks to finish the first book… o.O

Why would you want to put yourself through that torture? Think of how you will look for the next week! Your poor face! Do yourself a favor and "enjoy" the books throughout a week or however long it will take you to just read them naturally.

That would totally strain your eyes and you won’t remember every plot point

You’re gonna want to do it on a day when you spend like, the whole next day sleeping.
Have food readily available so you don’t have to go somewhere to get it; then its gonna take even longer to finish because you took that time getting food.

Make sure its okay if you get something on the books; it will happen if you’ve been up that long, trust me.

I did that once. I don’t need much sleep and I’m a really fast reader but if you’re not like me, I don’t recommend doing this. If someone who needs sleep and ignores it for a awhile, it distorts you mind, your IQ drops and you can never gain back the sleep you lost. So, why don’t you just read until you tired and then sleep and read again. Sometimes it’s better that way because you get to start with fresh eyes. Also, the suspense is fun. Annoying, but still.
