My 1 year old does not like the training cup. How can I transition to a regular cup immediately?
She just thinks the training cup is clumsy, she doesn’t suck on it in a convincing way, and doesn’t get any juice out of it. I thought I would give her water in tiny cups, like milk bottle covers, or any tiny glass. Ideas? Thanks.
My sister had the same problem with her 1st and 2nd Daughters. She would get a tall plastic cup and give her juice, but make her stay in the kitchen. But she would only fill the cup up with a tiny bit of juice. Barely enough to make a mess. Sure they would spill it, but it wasnt a big deal cause it was just a little bit. With her 3rd Daughter she tried a cartoon character cup, with a lid and a straw that lit up. This was exciting for her. She was 13 months, and not is 18months and drinks without a lid and doesn’t spill. She never liked the idea of a kid walking around with a sippycup cause they are more likely to wet the bed and harder to pottytrain. Good Luck.
put yummier stuff in the training cup. lol

use a cup with a straw instead, with her favorite character, there’s some plain ones at the grocery store too. btw, quit the bottle it rottens the teeth and stain them…

you have to do it in front of her like making her jealous

just get her sippy cups without stoppers, or pull the stoppers out of the ones you have. It may be a little messy at first, but she will get used to it.

After having 3 kids in a row, I got kinda tired of doing the bottles so Basically my 1 yo was forced into doing the sippy cups. She didn’t get it at first but if you are constant with giving it the baby will eventually learn. Good Luck!

Have you tried a straw sippy cup? Those are easier to get liquid out of. I gave one to Jack with breastmilk in it and it took him all of two days to get the hang of it.
Something like these…

My youngest was the same way I went through about 4 different kinds of sippy cups before finally finding one that she will drink from. They are made by Playtex and actually they are made for older toddlers they look much like an adults coffee cup and I think that is why she likes it so much because she has a cup like daddy’s. Anyway it has the spill proof valve inside which I like but there are no handles and it is not clumsy at all. You might try checking them out for us they have been a lifesaver!
