What items do you need to get started scrapbooking?

I want to give my mom a startup kit so she can start scrapbooking. Just wanna get some ideas on the best stuff to include to get her started.

My daughter bought me a startup kit when she learned I wanted to start scrapbooking. It was sold as a kit, and had everything needed to make an album, the album, page protectors, cardstock and paper in different colors and patterns, stickers, alphabets, other emblishments, plus a booklet with suggestions and instructions. Some come with glue and scissors, too.

Those kits come in many different styles and price ranges, and I think would be great for you to get her, since you don’t know what is needed, just like my daughter. And, it’s cheaper to buy a kit than each thing individually, trying to color coordinate it all.

Well the best thing to do is go to a crafty shop like spotlight of lincraft for example. Then get a scrap book and some paper to go in it. Also get some sticky things and cute things to go into the book. YOu will also need the normail and obvious things such as glue and the book as i said before. Good luck with all of this. Maybe you could include what kind of book you want it to be? That might help others answer your question!

    well, first a scrapbook…(obviously)
then i would get like a cardstock stack of solid colors and then maybe a smaller stack of patterned cardstock
    Definitly a paper trimmer
some adhesive (remember acid and ligin free)
    Oh Eyelets too
a "quote stack" they are little booklets that are full of quotes to use…
    some letter stickers
maybe a stamp or two and an ink pad…
and of course she is going to need something to keep it all in.
If there is a JoAnns of Micheals next to you I suggest getting their weekly/monthly ad and using the 40% off any one regular priced item and then getting her the scrapbook tote…it has a spot for everything in it so that its all nicely organized…
